Lefkadi Surf Club is the most known destination for wind related sports in the area of central Greece and Evia Island. The smooth thermal wind conditions of the Southern Evoikos gulf, combined with the wide hazard free sandy beach makes it the perfect place for both learning and practicing kitesurfing.

The kitesurfing centre is on the waterfront and is only a 10 minute walk from the picturesque village of Lefkadi. A top highlight of the spot is the view you get of the twin volcanos while kiting and in the evening the volcano sunset view from the beach bar lounge area is magical.

Wind Conditions

Lefkadi delivers unique wind conditions whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced kitesurfer. Because of its geographical position in between the greek mainland and Evia Island, the thermal wind blows almost every day after 3 pm.

The strength of the wind is 15 to 25 knots with a side shore direction which makes the spot completely safe and ideal for practicing. The best kite sizes for Lefkadi are 12 and 9 but 7 meter kites are also used. Recently acknowledged as a top foil boarding destination all year round. Typically a breeze 7-14 knots blows in the morning from North or North West direction and in the early afternoon the wind turns to thermal 6-10 knots and progressively increasing up to 15-20 knots making Lefkadi an all day foil boarding destination.

The best wind directions are South East and East but the spot also works with South, South West and West winds. Pretty much in the area of Lefkadi you can foil board 85% of the days yearly and about 80% of the days on a twin tip kiteboard in April,May and June.
